Summary
Lady Eleanor Jameson from Warwickshire is not like the other noble ladies who attend the autumn hunting expedition at Harrington Park.
Granted, she is similar to the other well-bred ladies in some aspects She is wealthy, well-connected, and overall agreed to be rather beautiful in a sensual and slightly plump way, but shockingly, she still has remained unmarried over the years.
However, that does not necessarily mean that she lacks bedtime companions, and as the night draws near at Harrington Park, she has decided to abandon the dinner banquette to attend some private hunting by herself...

“Warm, soft skin and ringlets of chestnut-coloured hair clouded his mind, obscured his vision and repeatedly diverted his focus. And when she skilfully managed to undo his coarse wool trousers so that his naked hardness suddenly was allowed to press directly against her unclad thighs and bottom, he knew that the battle was lost.
Abandoning the uncooperative strings to the corset, he pressed himself against her and wrapped his arms around her, letting his hands travel to her full, round breasts. He kissed her throat and in response she arched her back against him, moaning softly.”

Lady Eleanor Jameson from Warwickshire is rich and beautiful, but she's chosen to remain unmarried long enough to be deemed a spinster. This spinster knows what she wants when she sees it and she's marked the stable boy at a friend's home her target. She waits until the last night to corner him at the stable and make him give her what she wants.This was an okay read, but it had one thing that really bothered me. Lady Jameson is a very manipulative character and she basically threatens the stable boy Neil that she'll cry rape if he doesn't have sex with her. It didn't really seem to bother him much because he's a willing participant in their escapade, but still, it really rubbed me the wrong way. It made it really hard for me to enjoy the rest of the book.
Had that incident not occurred, I probably would have liked this just fine. If this is something that you find distasteful as I do, I'd suggest bypassing this. If it doesn't bother you, then you might enjoy this. I may have rated this four stars and I admit that it's entirely possible I'm just oversensitive to this kind of thing, but it did prevent me from fully enjoying the book.

Love this style of writing. Great story line, awesome romance for adults. Can not wait for the next book from this author.
very good writing. liked the Victorian setting. as an erotic novel(la) it was predictable to a point. It drew me in, and I was not expecting the way that it went.
Good read really in joyed this book. Very nice story line. Look forward to reading more books from this author.
Inspired by Downton Abbey Lady Eleanor is the most sought-after catch in polite society, yet has managed to elude the grasp of her suitors for over a decade. But that's not to say the lady has gone without her pleasures in the meantime. Like any cougar, she's become quite adept at pursing prey herself... the new stableboy at her friend's estate, for example.
What was all set up to be a really steamy encounter loses something because of the forced scenario. Eleanor blackmails an unwitting youth into servicing her- granted, it was a sub-text about being in control instead of being controlled, almost a Dom/sub scenario- but kind of killed the momentum. A more eager, willing accomplice would've worked better. Plus there was too much description and inner monologue with removing all the clothing.
